Blog,Weblog,atau Web Log?
Meski sudah cukup lama punya blog,atau nge-blog atau sebagai blogger tetapi pertanyaan itu selalu menggelitik untuk ditanyakan.
Weblog,umumnya lebih dikenal dengan blog,pertama kali digunakan oleh Jorn Barger pada tahun 1997. Istilah Weblog untuk menyebut kelompok website pribadi yang selalu diupdate secara taratur dan berisi link-link ke website lain.
Perkembangan blog dalam mencari bentuk mengikuti sesuai kemauan para empunya blog atau biasa disebut Blogger. Meskipun blog mulanya merupakan “catatan perjalanan seseorang diinternet” yang membentuk link ke website lain yang dikunjungi dan dianggap menarik,lebih dari sekedar daftar link.
Sejarah blog ditulis dengan cukup detail oleh Rebecca Blood,bermanfaat bagi yang tertarik untuk melihat sejarah dan evolusi dari blogging. Harvard Law punya juga artikel yang cukup membantu yaitu What makes a Weblog a Weblog. Artikel dari Trudy Schuett berjudul What is a blog and why do we need one? Beberapa definisi adalah sebagai berikut ( maaf dlm bhs. inggris ):
‘A weblog is a hierarchy of text,images,media objects and data,arranged chronologically,that can be viewed in an HTML browser.’ Source
